The Pantry at Manor Farm is an on-line farm shop in north Shropshire specializing in local, organic and artisan produce.
We produce our own organic meat under the Wackley Brook brand, and sell the best quality organic and local produce alongside eco-friendly household products here in our store.
About The Pantry at Manor Farm
The Pantry is based at Manor Farm, an organic small holding near Wem in the heart of the Shropshire countryside.
After starting our organic conversion in 2015, we're now fully licensed by the Soil Association and we produce and sell our own organic meat, eggs, and "in-season" soft fruit.
At Manor Farm, we have our own small flock of rare breed Lincoln Longwool sheep. You'll also find our organic, free-range table and laying chickens roaming free. Our five alpacas are the gentle guardians of our poultry, our geese are free to range over our home fields, and our sheep putting us back in touch with the value of wool and slow grown rare breed meat.
We support local, artisan producers in the Shropshire area and are committed to a low-plastic, low-impact lifestyle.
All of our own Wackley Brook branded produce is certified by the Soil Association. Many of our products from other suppliers are certified organic, although not all are. If you need further information on our products, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Who's Behind the Pantry?
The Pantry at Manor Farm is a family-run business. Our background is diverse, blending our personal experience in agriculture, ecology, IT, veterinary nursing, renewable resources and many other interests.
We support local food, small producers, and avoid factory processed food as much as possible. Our approach provides a good basis for careful land management and high standards of animal welfare, both of which are important to how we run the business.
As a family, we believe in treading lightly on the earth. Our farmhouse is partly solar powered with ground source heating and rainwater collection. We do not use pesticides on the farm, and all of our animals are treated on an individual basis.
As individuals, we have always been conscious of the impact we are having on our environment. Collectively, we try to avoid plastics and pollutants in our everyday lives.
About Wackley Brook
Wackley Brook is our own brand selling organic chicken, lamb, hogget and eggs. We strongly believe in high-welfare production: outdoor reared, pasture fed animals and our land is managed according to organic standards.
We practice sustainable farming, planning careful rotations, and manage our land to preserve the valuable nutrients in our food.
